Why Integrate cPanel Email with Google Workspace? Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) offers powerful tools including Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, and more, providing a professional and collaborative environment for your business email. Integrating your cPanel email lets you manage emails with Gmail’s familiar interface while using your own domain. Prerequisites An active cPanel email account with your domain (e.g., you@yourdomain.com). Access to your Google Workspace Admin Console. Basic knowledge of DNS and MX records. Step 1: Verify Your Domain with Google Workspace Before setting up email, you need to verify your domain ownership in Google Workspace: Log in to your Google Workspace Admin Console. Go to Domains > Manage Domains. Follow the verification steps. Typically, this involves adding a TXT record to your domain’s DNS via your cPanel DNS Zone Editor. Access your cPanel, navigate to Zone Editor, and add the TXT record provided by Google. Wait for DNS propagation, then return to Google Admin and click “Verify.” Step 2: Update MX Records to Route Email to Google Servers Next, change your domain’s MX records to point to Google Workspace: In cPanel, open the Zone Editor or Email Routing section. Delete existing MX records related to your hosting provider. Add the following Google Workspace MX records exactly as below: Priority Mail Server 1 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM 5 ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM 5 ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM 10 ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM 10 ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM Save your changes and wait for DNS propagation (may take up to 48 hours). Step 3: Access Your cPanel Email via Gmail (Optional) If you want to keep your cPanel mailbox but use Gmail as your email client: Log in to Gmail. Go to Settings > See all settings > Accounts and Import. Under Check mail from other accounts, click Add a mail account. Enter your cPanel email address and configure POP3 settings with your cPanel mail server. Also, set up Send mail as to send emails from Gmail using your cPanel email address. Additional Tips Keep your old emails backed up before changing MX records. Update SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records in cPanel for better email deliverability with Google Workspace. Use Google Workspace apps to enhance productivity beyond email. Need Help?
